I was commissioned by Chris McNamara of the climbing guidebook company SuperTopo, to research, write, manage, and design the layout for the second edition of High Sierra Climbing. I live and climb in the Sierra, and this was a particularly exciting project for me. I created a list of climbs to add to the new edition, and throughout the summer of 2012 I climbed, sketched, documented, photographed, and researched each of these routes. I added 14 new routes to the guide, most of them requiring a full day of hiking and an overnight camp to complete.

When it came time to layout the book, I made a big push to solicit images from local photographers of local climbers. This full-color edition turned out beautifully because of the artwork of talented individuals throughout the Eastern Sierra, such as Luke Lydiard, Ken Etzel, Dan Mingori, and many others. Local writer and historian Andy Selters contributed colorful histories to the new routes, and local mountain guides Jediah Porter and Ian McEleney helped with beta and and fact-checking. This has turned into a beautiful resource for climbers hoping to explore the high country of the Eastern Sierra.
